One of the goals of the Swiss Marketplace Lending Association is to increase the transparency of the market for private and professional investors. Understanding the risks and returns of investments in marketplace lending is essential for the evolution of the Swiss market. In a first step, the SMLA therefore established common definitions for risk and return figures (see Code of Conduct). The data will be reported on a nationally aggregated level from the second half of 2018 onwards.

For an overview on the market in 2017, see the latest study published by PwC, Hochschule Luzern, and the SMLA (Link).
